The Marine Museum at Nhava is a small but neat museum housing replicas of old ships and other small historical artifacts related to merchant shipping in India.
The Marine Museum is housed within the TS Rahaman campus. You can park in the ground opposite the TS Rahaman campus gate and obtain a visitor pass at the gate for visiting the Marine Museum.
A small board on the 1st floor describing flags/pennants flown by merchant ships was interesting. There is also a section for marine life.
The Museum charges a fee of Rs. 25/- per visitor and is open from 830 in the morning to about 530 in the evening. Photography within the Museum is not allowed.
You should visit this place for -
- the drive up to the place, specially the Ulve-Nhava section
- look see into the campus with cadets going about their activities
- green peaceful surroundings along mangroves - consider a stopover at RamBagh Park
- and the Marine Museum
