Fauji Brat

You know you’re a fauji brat if:

1. You know a tank doesn't refer to a water tank.
2. You relate ‘caliber’ to a weapon and not IQ.
3. You can differentiate between an SLR, AK 47 and an INSAS.
4. You know gun oil is different from engine oil.
5. You know chindi’s and pull through’s.
6. You can pick guys with a services background in school / college.
7. You can tell ranks, regiment, medals and division from a soldier’s uniform.
8. You can tell the rank of an officer from flags and stars.
9. You understand formations - platoons, companies, battalions, brigades and divisions.
10. You're familiar with call signs - pigeon, sparrow, lamb, tiger, etc.
11. You’re familiar with abbreviations like MT, DQ, DAAG, BM, MS Branch, DGMO, COAS, ICBM, AWWA, DSOI, BMP, APC, SLR, LMG, RCL.
12. A sand model instantly brings up an image of a bed of sand showing the actual ground topography of an area with strategically placed tanks, field guns, marked field positions and flags.
13. You refer to everybody else as ‘civilians’.
14. You scoff at army scenes in hindi movies.
15. You’re able to relate to movies like Dirty Dozen, Commando, Guns of Navarone, etc.
16. You can tell leeches, scorpions and mongoose.
17. You've been to school in a jeep, jonga, one ton or a three ton.
18. You know Langar food is better than Mess food.
19. You’ve used a ‘pithu’ to lug your books to school / college.
20. You think you’ve seen it all.
